Chief Operating Officer

Matt Eckler

“I began my career with ALS in 2010 right out of Michigan State after meeting them at a career fair on campus. I started as a logistics coordinator and quickly learned the ropes, getting experience in both the customer and carrier sides of our business.

Early on, Joe told me to make the decisions that I would make if it was my own business. It was this mindset and ‘intrapreneur’ opportunity that really lit me up early on and continues to drive me today. After getting an opportunity to get into Account Management within the first year, I took it on and was quickly managing our largest customer.

From there I continued to build my book of business, saying yes to every opportunity to grow. Eventually I got into leadership and was able to apply my passion of growing the business to another level. That has led me to my current role where I’m responsible for leading and managing the executive leadership team and delivering our business’s highest-level objectives and goals. My favorite part of the journey is winning as a team and building camaraderie along the way.”

Carrier Sales Representative

Kelly Magsig

“I came to ALS in February of 2021, holding zero experience in Logistics. I had worked as a stay-at-home mom for the last 3 years. However, when life changes, other things had to change too, and that meant going back to work full time to support myself and 2 boys…I walked in for my interview, seeing the projector screen on the wall, displaying ‘numbers.’ I said to myself, ‘I will be up there one day.’

My journey started in the track-n-trace department, an entry-level position. After expressing that I wanted a little more responsibility, I applied to the Junior Rep position that had recently opened up.

After 3 months with the company tracking, I was offered the
position and hired into that role. After almost one year I was promoted to CSR (carrier sales representative) and took on expedites full time. In that time, I gained an immense amount of volume which led me into getting my own intern and junior representative (full circle moment!).

Today I am proud to say I am one of the top leading net generating employees with ALS, and my name is, in fact, on that board every day.”

Director of Information Technology

Joshua Cameon

“I started at Automated Logistics Systems as an intern in 2016 while studying at Hillsdale College…In the mornings, we learned and operated all the fundamentals of our business. As an applied math and economics major, I was drawn to a lot of data and analytics projects.

After graduating, I was offered a full-time offer as Business Analyst, where my role was to provide analytical insights into the strategies of our business. I also created and encouraged visibility to data to help the stakeholders make better data-driven business decisions, which brought in a whole culture around innovating and developing a culture of data at ALS.

Once learning the data, systems, and operations of our company through my time as intern and Business Analyst, I was able to give more insight into the systems we used, and how to make them more efficient for operations and implement the technical features to take us to the next level. I have recently been promoted to my current role as Director of IT, where I am able to provide the strategic direction around our IT resources and set our vision for our roadmap and initiatives in the future.”

Director of Solutions & Implementation

Kevin Clark

“In the Fall of 2011, straight out of Central Michigan University, I embarked on an exciting journey by joining Automated Logistics Systems as an Operations Specialist. It was my first foray into the professional world, and I was brimming with enthusiasm and a hunger to learn. The company’s innovative spirit and dynamic work environment instantly drew me in, and I was eager to contribute to its success.

During my initial years at Automated Logistics Systems, I immersed myself in various operational tasks, gaining hands-on experience that would lay the foundation for my future growth. The camaraderie among colleagues, the mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the company’s commitment to fostering individual growth created an environment where I could thrive. As time passed, I began to take on more responsibilities and challenges, each one adding a new layer to my skill set.

In 2013, a new opportunity arose that led me to temporarily leave Automated Logistics Systems. I felt a mix of excitement and nostalgia as I embarked on this new adventure, but the values and lessons I had imbibed during my time at the company stayed with me. Over those five years away, I continued to hone my skills, broaden my horizons, and gain fresh perspectives in the industry.

Fast forward to 2018, and I found myself back at Automated Logistics Systems’ doorstep, this time with a wealth of experience under my belt. The company had grown and evolved during my absence, and it was invigorating to see the changes while still feeling a deep connection to its core values. I rejoined as a Enterprise Account Manager, a role that not only showcased the trust the company had in my abilities but also presented an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

My journey from an eager Operations Specialist to a Director of Implementation and Solutions was a testament to Automated Logistics Systems’ commitment to nurturing talent and providing avenues for growth. I found myself leading a team of talented professionals, collaborating with clients to devise innovative solutions, and contributing to strategic decisions that would shape the company’s future. The sense of fulfillment and accomplishment I experienced was unparalleled.

Looking back, the decision to return to Automated Logistics Systems was one of the best choices I’ve made. The sense of belonging, the relationships forged, and the continuous opportunities for growth have made this journey truly remarkable. The path from Operations Specialist to Director of Implementation and Solutions has been one of challenges, growth, and unwavering support, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds as I continue to contribute to the company’s success.”
